| Waste Management take the prize for 2nd consecutive
year. What would compel a garbage truck driver to drive through my newly planted
grass seed week after week. I have broken sprinklers and the truck tires
have made ruts in the lawn. It's bad enough that my poor vehicle stumbles
over the ruts like a speed bump when exiting the driveway. I have contacted WM on 36 occasions and cannot get relief. For a while,
the customer service persons (800-283-1582) knew me on a first name
basis. In the end, the supervisor, Julie Hernandez (209-358-2159)
called me only 3 times and would not leave me a message on voicemail or any other
way to make contact, not even smoke signals! On one occasion, a guy that could not speak English
very well came to inspect the damage to the lawn and garden. I showed him
broken sprinklers, the hole where the trash truck got stuck and requested
a written response, that has been over a year now.. still waiting.
I have called and contacted their silly web form contact request at
the corporate website and have yet to hear back from them since
12/2006.
Next I submitted a complaint with the local BBB, I received an email
back stating the their organization will make contact the Waste Management
about my dissatisfactions. The BBB email me back and explained that their
was no response after 30 days, and were closing the case. WTF! A few days
after that, I got a response from the BBB in an email with a PDF
attachment. I opened the attachment and was a copy of a letter explaining
to call the district manager Julie Hernandez. Upon my review, I got screwed
again, the contact number was mysteriously missing 1 of the 10 digit
number to make contact. I lucked out due to the fact that file was written
on letterhead.
In the end, after the complaining, I refused to pay my garbage bill, so
my account was placed into collections. I will peruse this matter further.
